English Essay: “My Future Profession, Lawyer”
Since early childhood I have been fascinated by the way laws shape our society. Whenever I watched courtroom dramas or read news about high-profile cases, I felt a strong desire to become a person who could protect justice and defend people’s rights. For me, being a lawyer is not just a job; it is a mission.

What does a lawyer do?
A lawyer is a professional who is trained and licensed to practise law. Day-to-day duties include:
- researching legal issues — исследовать правовые вопросы;
- drafting contracts, wills and other documents — составлять договоры, завещания и иные документы;
- representing clients in court — представлять интересы клиентов в суде;
- negotiating settlements — вести переговоры о мировых соглашениях;
- providing legal advice — давать юридические консультации.
Path to the profession
To become a lawyer in most countries, one must:
- complete a four-year undergraduate degree;
- attend law school for another three years;
- pass the bar exam (квалификационный экзамен) and obtain a licence.
Personal qualities of a good lawyer
This career requires a unique combination of skills:
- analytical thinking — аналитическое мышление;
- excellent communication — отличные коммуникативные навыки;
- attention to detail — внимание к деталям;
- integrity and empathy, честность и эмпатия;
- persistence — настойчивость.
Areas of specialisation
Modern jurisprudence is diverse. A future lawyer may choose:

In my opinion, the profession of a lawyer is challenging yet rewarding. It offers the opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives, uphold justice and contribute to the creation of a law-governed state. I am determined to study hard, develop the necessary skills and join the ranks of those who protect the rule of law.
